Hot Tub Time Machine Movie (2010) – A Child Of The 80s Review

Like, oh my gawd you guys! Like, I saw Hot Tub Time Machine yesterday, and like, you should like, totally see it! It’s totally tubular!

Here’s a quick synopsis of the hilarious flick, for those who don’t know anything about it (and if you don’t, why not??). I apologize ahead of time if my summary seems vague, but I don’t want to ruin the movie for anyone.

John Cusack plays Adam
Clark Duke plays Jacob, Adam’s nephew
Craig Robinson plays Nick
Rob Corddry plays Lou

Adam, Nick, and Lou have been friends for years; Jacob lives with Adam. Adam’s girlfriend has left him, Nick works at a dog grooming place, and Lou is a miserable drunk.

Adam, Nick and Lou decide to visit a ski resort where they spent time as teenagers; Jacob goes with them because there will be hot chicks at the resort.

As the men pull into the little down, it’s not the rockin’ place they remember, and looks more like a ghost town than anything else. They continue to the lodge only to find it in shambles as well.

They check in, go to their cabin, it’s crappy, they complain. Jacob notices they have a hot tub; they lift the lid to check it out, only to find that it’s not exactly in working order.

They go back inside and complain some more. Soon after, the doors to the deck fly open and bright lights attract the men back to the hot tub area, which now seems to be in fine working order; they assume the lodge people fixed it.

They gather their liquid party supplies and hop in. That’s when things get crazy and total hilarity ensues.

Obviously I can tell you they travel back in time – to 1986 – without spoiling the movie for you; but I’m going to leave it at that, because you really should go see it yourself.

Be sure to check out the Restricted Trailer – even if you’ve already seen the movie. There are a bunch of scenes in it that weren’t in the movie.

In fact, there’s one scene in the Restricted Trailer that’s really different from the way it appears in the movie – it’s more than something just being edited out. Two points for anyone who can tell me what it is.

You can find the Restricted Trailer here: http://hottubtimemachinemovie.com/restricted/; you will have to enter your birthday to ensure you’re over 18.

Oh! One more thing ….. in addition to John Cusack, there are several other actors, who were big in the 1980s, that appear in Hot Tub Time Machine. Can you find them all??

Have you seen Hot Tub Time Machine already? What did you think of it? Did you think it’s as funny as I think it is? If not, why not?

I seriously cannot wait until the DVD comes out; I may have to break down and pay movie theater prices to see it again. It’s literally that funny.

Here’s the Un-Restricted Trailer…..
