Today is a very important day. ELECTION DAY. So let your voice be heard and GO VOTE! In honor of this day, keep in mind these wise words said by our fellow humans – some, said even before the birth of Christ. And be sure to check out the video at the bottom — voting advice from someone we all love!

– Man is by nature a political animal. (Aristotle, b.c.)

– Where some people are very wealthy and others have nothing, the result will be either extreme democracy or absolute oligarchy, or despotism will come from either of those excesses. (Aristotle, b.c. )

– I…could not help reflecting in my way upon the singular ill-luck of this my dear country, which, as long as ever I remember it, and as far back as I have read, has always been governed by the only two or three people, out of two or three millions, totally incapable of governing, and unfit to be trusted. (Lord Chesterfield, 1756)

– If the principle were to prevail, of a common law [i.e. a single government] being in force in the U.S.…it would become the most corrupt government on the earth. (Thomas Jefferson, 1800)

– This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or their revolutionary right to dismember or overthrow it. (Abraham Lincoln, 1861)

– The Christian resolution to find the world ugly and bad has made the world ugly and bad. (Friedrich Nietzsche, 1882)

– No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed, it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except all those other forms that have been tried from time to time. (Sir Winston Churchill, 1882)

– When the political columnists say ‘Every thinking man’ they mean themselves, and when candidates appeal to ‘Every intelligent voter’ they mean everybody who is going to vote for them. (Franklin P. Adams, 1944)

– Hell, I never vote for anybody. I always vote against. (W. C. Fields, 1950)

– I think that people want peace so much that one of these days governments had better get out of the way and let them have it. (Dwight D. Eisenhower, 1959)

– Vote for the man who promises least; he’ll be the least disappointing. (Bernard Baruch, 1960)
