Dr. Dre’s Son Found Dead At 20.

No one should have to bury their own child.

Rap superstar and hip-hop producer extraordinaire Dr Dre, lost his second eldest son (and namesake) this past Saturday. Andre Romelle Young, Jr. was found unresponsive in his bedroom by his mother at approximately 10:30am on the 23rd; he was pronounced dead at the scene after every effort was made to revive him.

Although an autopsy was conducted yesterday (Monday), an official cause of death will not be known until the toxicology report is completed. At this time, police do not suspect foul play.

According to the coroner’s spokesperson, Young had spent the previous evening with friends. His mother told police that he’d returned home Saturday at around 5:30 a.m., and that she’d heard him in his bedroom. A spokesperson for Dr. Dre issued the following statement Tuesday on the rapper’s behalf: “Dr. Dre is mourning the loss of his son Andre Young Jr. Please respect his family’s grief and privacy at this time.” MTV.com

Andre Romelle Young, Jr. was Dr. Dre’s second child; he is survived by brothers Curtis, 26, Marcel, 17, Truth, 11, and his baby sister Truly, 7.
