I’m not a hardcore viewer of Dancing with the Stars, but I’ve paid enough attention to know that the caliber of celebrity leaves a lot to be desired. At this point, some of the pro dancers are bigger stars than the stars.
They should really change the name to Dancing with People You Know ‘Cause They’re Splashed All Over The News. But I suppose that’s a little too long.
The DWTS season 10 cast was announced yesterday and while I don’t have a problem with most of the stars, I do have a problem with a few.
Like Kate Gosselin. And Jake Pavelka. And Erin Andrews.
I guess I just don’t see being on a reality TV show as enough to make you a star. But whatever; it is what it is. Yes, I realize Erin Andrews is not known for a reality TV show, but she’s not exactly well known for her sports casting career, either.
The Dancing with the Stars 2010 pairings:
Newly single mother of eight Kate Gosselin and Tony Dovolani for his ninth season.
Bachelor star Jake Pavelka and Chelsie Hightower for her third season.
ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy for his eighth season.
Cincinnati Bengeals’ wide receiver, Chad Ochocinco and two-time champion Cheryl Burke, for her ninth season.
Popular 90s actress Shannen Doherty and two-time champ Mark Ballas, for his sixth season.
Men’s figure skating newest gold medalist Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya, for her fifth season.
Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger and Season 7 champ Derek Hough, for his sixth season.
Actor Aiden Tuner from the soap opera All My Children and Edyta Sliwinska, the only pro to compete in all 10 seasons.
Comedienne Niecy Nash and Louis Van Amstel, for his sixth season.
Former sex symbol Pamela Anderson Damian Whitwood, who is making his debut this season.
Astronaut Buzz Aldrin and Ashley Costa nee DelGrosso, for her fourth season.
The 10th season of Dancing with the Stars begins Monday March 22nd at 8:00 p.m. Eastern on ABC.
