There Was No Burt Reynolds Death – Just Quintuple Bypass Surgery

I hate to break it to all the Burt Reynolds haters out there (how can you hate Burt Reynolds, by the way?), but the man is still alive.

Contrary to reports of a Burt Reynolds death, there wasn’t one.

The 74-year-old actor did, however, have quintuple bypass surgery in Florida last week; a procedure that was actually planned a month ago. Burt Reynolds is now receiving nursing care around the clock and is expected to make a full recovery.

There is some debate about whether this surgery was for life saving purposes or not.

The National Enquirer says Burt Reynolds was told by his doctors that “he would die” if he didn’t have the surgery.

But Burt’s manager Erik Kritzer says the procedure was not an emergency surgery and that early reports that Reynolds was in dire condition are “completely untrue.”

In a statement to WENN, Kritzer spoke on Burt Reynolds’ behalf, “He wants to thank everyone for their good wishes and states that he has a great motor with brand new pipes and he is feeling great. Doctors plan on a speedy recovery.”

I love Burt Reynolds, and I have for as long as I can remember. I really hope he pulls through and lives another twenty years – at least.

And if you don’t love Burt Reynolds as much as I do, you can kiss his…..

I was never interested in Burt Reynolds until I watched Deliverance for the first time last year (2010). My eyes spent half the movie on him soaking up the masculinity he oozes though the film. I’m proud to say that I’ve been crushing on him ever since. I hope he lives to 100.
