I think I’ve finally figured out why Jennifer Love Hewitt can’t hang on to a man for very long.
She’s not interested in dating – you know, actually getting to know someone – she prefers boyfriends.
Jen Love went on the Today show to plug her new book on dating and relationships (ha ha ha), called The Day I Shot Cupid, and discussed why she’s rather have a boyfriend then go on dates.
“I don’t think anyone truly enjoys dating … I’m better in relationships than I am going out with one guy on a Monday and then another one on a Wednesday and another one on a Saturday. It feels weird to me. So, I tend to spend time with people and have boyfriends versus dates.”
Um ….. yeah ….. First of all, who ever said “dating” means having to out with a bunch of different people at the same time? Where I come from, that’s not dating – that’s slutting. (And yes, I can say that ‘cause I used to do it).
Secondly, how are you supposed to get to know someone well enough to make them your boyfriend, without dating them first?
But then Hewitt says, “I think it takes a lot of frogs to find your prince.”
What? Doesn’t that require dating??
You confuse me Jennifer Love Hewitt!!
As for her future in love, Hewitt – who was once engaged to Scottish actor Ross McCall – says she still has some self-discovery left to do first.
“I think every relationship you’re in teaches you something different about yourself,” she said. “And I feel like, at 31, there’s still so much more I need to know about myself before I can completely give the perfect version of me to someone.”
Oh my God woman! You’ve got to weed out the bad apples before getting into an actual relationship with someone. That’s why you date!!

By the by, to celebrate her single status this time around, Jennifer Love Hewitt cut off a bunch of her hair. It’s a known fact that women do that sort of thing after going through a break up.
