Meet the models…..
I’m a communications major at Cal Poly. I love to exercise, dance, go to the beach, and go on wild adventures. I played varsity volleyball in high school. I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for my family, my friends and my faith. I have always been interested in modeling. In first grade, for career day at school, I dressed up as a model. As a teenager, I belonged to Click Agency in LA for a couple years and did several photoshoots.
Over the last year, I modeled for Central Coast Fashion Week and did a couple of photoshoots which has revived my passion for modeling. I am one of the models in the film Haute Couture: A Fashion Documentary. I love the energy I get when I’m walking down the runway and the transformation I experience when I’m in front of the camera. I can’t get that kind of adrenaline and fulfillment from anything else. I have the skills, the drive, and the perseverance it takes to become a full-time model and I will not give up until I reach my dream.
I’ve been modeling now for about 2 years both runway and with a handful of local photographers and I must say I’ve had a chance to meet and work with some amazing people along the way. My full time career is personal training, I’ve been a certified trainer now for 3 years and love every minute of helping people feel better about who they are. I love being in the fashion industry and getting a chance to work and network with some of the amazing local talent here in the bay area. I look forward to this next year and all the opportunities it holds!
I was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, to my 5 foot 3 inch mother and my 6 foot 10 inch father. When I was two years old my pediatrician calculated that would be 6’ feet tall, and told my parents “she has the knees of a supermodel.”
At 12 years old, I was already 6’ tall. I began my training to be a top model, at 12 years old and at 14, I debuted in the Puerto Rico High Fashion Week, and was a finalist in Elite Model Look. I was featured in countless print ads and editorials in magazines and newspapers, and modeled for some of the island’s top designers, including Nono Maldonado, Luis Antonio, Carlota Alfaro, Verona, Carlos Alberto, among many others.
I was one the featured models in the documentary film Haute Couture: A Fashion Documentary, (nominated for Best Documentary/Film at the Tasty Awards 2011) which followed the grassroots creation of the Central Coast Fashion Week shows. I was also featured in the commercial for Zinfandel Wine Festival 2011 as the Italian Beauty (along side Hollywood actor Casey Biggs.)
I was born and raised in Taiwan, and consider myself an extremist – it’s either go all out or do nothing at all. Shortly after moving to the U.S., I had a total of 11 pets: 2 dogs, 1 cat, 2 rabbit, 1 hamster, 1 turtle, and 4 chickens! I also like to take my fashion to the extreme, with extensive collections of over-the-top rings and shoes. Currently a print model for “Call One,” “Sisco,” “Timbuk2,” and “Yahoo,” I’ve modeled for a variety of hair shows, stylists’ portfolios, artists, designers, and runway events.
My name is Lai La. I was born in Peru and I always been inclined towards fashion ever since I remember. When I moved to the United States I never thought about modeling until one designer friend told me about a model casting for a fashion show and I decided to give it a try. Ever since that moment, I have been modeling in San Francisco for fashion shows and photo shoots. I look forward to working as a print model and meeting more talented designers, photographers and people in the industry.
I was born and raised in Minnesota, coming to California to attend USC, where I got a Bachelors Degree and an Italian Fulbright Fellowship. Since moving to the San Francisco Bay Area a year ago, I’ve has participated in more than 20 fashion shows as a runway model, and joined the bay area arts community as a model, pole dancer, performer, and entrepreneur. I have also lent my talents to aerial pole dance performances at private parties, special events, birthdays, fundraisers, festivals, and theater productions. I also work as a Sound Healer and Body Tuner, helping people to “live more excitedly in their bodies” through my personal business Body Tune.
Yes, LulaMay is my real name and not a Breakfast at Tiffany’s reference. I am a model and an aspiring actress. In the past year and a half I have walked in 45 runway show, shot 2 commercials, 1 independent film, 2 music videos, 8 promotional events, and 100 photo shoots. I didn’t anything could come close to the high modeling gives me, until I had a chance to act. A couple small rolls and I can’t get enough. By the end of 2012 I hope to be telling Hilary and Super Start Gossip all the details of my first full length feature film.
