You know, I got a real big problem with people who complain about money troubles then proceed to purchase ridiculous things. And I have a huge problem when those people have kids and the ridiculous purchase is a completely selfish one.
Case in point, Kate Gosselin, who recently found out her money train has been canceled and seemingly soothed her financial worries by purchasing a brand new Audi TT that costs somewhere in the $50,000 range. With leather interior, a turbo-charged engine, and the ability to go as fast at 130mph, it’s far from the perfect family car; especially when that family consists of 8 children all under the age of 12.
“People think we made gazillions of dollars, and we didn’t,” she said in a recent cover interview with People. “After the show was canceled, I said, ‘I’ll go back to my old nursing job.’ If nothing comes up I’ll do it. But the scary reality is, 12-hour nursing shifts every day wouldn’t let me continue to provide well for eight kids essentially on my own. When you think about it that way, it gets really scary.” [source]
So…um…yeah…tell me exactly how blowing fifty grand on a totally impractical-for-your-lifestyle sports car will provide well for eight kids?
Get your head out of your ass, Kate. Seriously.
